Arms of God Boss Guide: How to Beat Every Major Boss With Strategy & Loadouts (2026)
Arms of God Boss Guide: Beat Every Major Boss
Arms of God features 10 bosses spread across 4 Acts — 2 bosses per Act plus 2 hidden bosses in Acts 3 and 4 that only spawn under specific conditions. Each boss has telegraphed attack patterns, damage-type weaknesses, and optimal positioning zones that turn difficult fights into scripted victories once you know them.
This guide covers every boss with their attack patterns, safe zones, recommended loadouts, and the one thing most players miss that makes each fight significantly easier.

Act 1 Bosses
#### Knight Commander Varek
Overview: Your first boss. A large armored knight with a massive greatsword. Three attacks, all clearly telegraphed.
Attack Patterns:
1. Overhead Slam (Red Zone): Varek raises his sword for 1.5 seconds, then slams the ground in a 5-meter line in front of him. The red zone appears 1 second before impact. Walk sideways. This attack one-shots characters with base HP.
2. Horizontal Sweep (180° Arc): Varek sweeps his sword in a wide arc covering roughly 180 degrees in front of him. Telegraph: he pulls the sword to his right side for 1 second. Move behind him or stand directly at his left shoulder.
3. Shield Charge (Linear Dash): Varek lowers his shoulder and charges in a straight line across the arena. Telegraph: a red arrow appears on the ground showing the charge path. Move perpendicular. Varek is stunned for 3 seconds after hitting a wall, giving you a free damage window.
Safe Zone: Stay at mid-range, roughly 45 degrees to Varek's right side. This position avoids the Overhead Slam (you're not directly in front), the Horizontal Sweep (you're on the edge of the arc), and gives you time to react to the Shield Charge.
Recommended Loadout: Any ranged weapon (Crusader's Shotgun is ideal for new players). At least one weapon with knockback to create space after the Shield Charge stun window ends. The Sacred Crux in Beam mode can hit Varek during the Shield Charge recovery.
What Most Players Miss: Varek takes 50% increased damage during the 3-second stun window after his Shield Charge hits a wall. Save your Divine Form for this window. Bait the charge near a wall, dodge, activate Divine Form, unload everything.
#### Corrupted Bishop Aldric
Overview: Ranged spellcaster who summons minions. Lower HP than Varek but his damage output is higher if you ignore his adds.
Attack Patterns:
1. Homing Orb Volley (3 Projectiles): Aldric launches 3 slow-moving purple orbs that track your position. They persist for 8 seconds. Kite them in a circle — they can't turn sharply. Never run directly away from them; they match your speed.
2. Summon Acolytes (2-4 Adds): Aldric kneels and summons 2-4 cultist adds. Telegraph: a purple circle appears on the ground for 2 seconds. Kill the adds immediately. If left alive, they buff Aldric's damage by 15% per add.
3. Corruption Pool (Ground AoE): Aldric places a 3-meter purple pool on the ground that deals damage over time. The pool lasts 12 seconds. Walk out of it. Don't stand in the purple.
4. Desperation Beam (Below 25% HP): Aldric fires a continuous purple beam that sweeps across the arena. He rotates slowly — you can out-walk it. Dodge through the beam (yes, through — the hitbox is narrower than the visual effect suggests).
Safe Zone: Close range, circling Aldric clockwise. The Homing Orbs have a wide turn radius and struggle to track targets moving in tight circles. The Corruption Pool is always placed at Aldric's current position, so constant movement means he never pools where you're standing.
Recommended Loadout: High fire rate weapons to shred adds quickly. Fire element weapons deal bonus damage to Aldric (his corrupted form is weak to Fire). The Tesla Coil deployable is excellent here — drop it and let it handle adds while you focus on Aldric.
What Most Players Miss: Aldric's adds buff his damage by 15% each. Four adds = +60% damage. That's why you sometimes die "randomly" to his attacks. Kill adds first. Always.
Act 2 Bosses
#### The Twin Wardens
Overview: A dual boss fight against two armored wardens — one Fire-aspected (red armor), one Shock-aspected (blue armor). Both must be defeated. If one dies and the other survives for more than 15 seconds, the dead one revives at 50% HP.
Attack Patterns:
1. Fire Warden — Flame Wave: Launches a wave of fire that travels across the arena. Jump over it or dodge sideways. The wave is wider than it is tall — lateral movement is easier than trying to jump.
2. Fire Warden — Meteor Strike: Marks a location with a red circle (2-second delay), then a meteor hits for massive damage. Keep moving. The Fire Warden targets your current position at the start of the telegraph.
3. Shock Warden — Chain Lightning: Fires lightning that chains between you and any nearby minions. Spread out. If you have minions (Prophet), they'll chain the lightning to you.
4. Shock Warden — EMP Field: Places a 4-meter field that disables your Sacred Crux and reduces attack speed by 40%. Walk out. Don't fight inside it.
5. Combined Attack — Fire and Fury: Both wardens stand together and channel for 3 seconds, then unleash overlapping AoE attacks covering 80% of the arena. The safe zone is always the corners. When you see them grouping up, sprint to the nearest corner.
Safe Zone: Keep both wardens on the same side of your screen. Never let them split up and flank you. The fight is manageable with both in front of you and borderline impossible with one on each side. Use the arena pillars to break line of sight with one warden while you damage the other.
Recommended Loadout: Holy weapons deal neutral damage to both (neither is resistant). Seraph's Judgment is excellent because the piercing spread hits both simultaneously. Kill them at roughly the same pace — get both to 10-15% HP before finishing either one.
What Most Players Miss: The death timer for revival is 15 seconds. You don't need to kill them at the exact same moment. Get both low, then finish them within 10 seconds of each other. If one dies and you can't kill the other in time, damage the reviving warden during its resurrection animation (3 seconds of free damage).
#### Molten Golem Korrath
Overview: A massive lava golem that fills the arena with damaging lava pools. The fight is a positioning check disguised as a DPS check.
Attack Patterns:
1. Lava Pool Spawn: Karrath slams the ground, spawning 3-5 lava pools (2-meter radius, 15-second duration). The pools appear at random locations. They accumulate — by the 2-minute mark, 40% of the arena is lava.
2. Fist Slam (Melee): Karrath punches the ground at his current target. 1.5-second wind-up. Dodge sideways.
3. Lava Wave (Arena-Wide): Karrath submerges into the lava for 5 seconds, then erupts, sending a wave of lava in all directions. Safe spots: the edges of the arena or any solid ground not covered by pools. The wave travels slowly — you can outrun it.
4. Enrage (Below 30% HP): Karrath glows bright orange. Lava pool spawn rate doubles. Attack speed increases by 30%. The fight becomes a DPS race — kill him before the arena fills completely.
Safe Zone: The arena edges are generally safer because lava pools spawn more frequently near the center. However, the edges have less room to dodge. Balance: stay in the outer third of the arena, rotate constantly.
Recommended Loadout: Shock weapons deal bonus damage to Karrath (molten = conductive). The Stormcaller's chain lightning hits Karrath even when you're dodging lava. Ranged weapons are strongly preferred — melee forces you into lava pools. At least one knockback weapon to push Karrath into existing lava pools (yes, he takes damage from his own lava, roughly 2% HP per second).
What Most Players Miss: You can push Karrath into his own lava pools with knockback weapons. A Blessed Mace or Flame Lance positioned correctly shoves him into pools for free damage. This alone accounts for roughly 15-20% of his total HP in a full fight.
Act 3 Bosses
#### Archon of Storms
Overview: A floating elemental entity that controls the arena with rotating damage zones. The first genuine mechanics check in the game.
Attack Patterns:
1. Rotating Safe Zones: The arena is divided into 8 pie-slice sections. Every 10 seconds, 4 random sections become electrified (instant death on contact with the electrified ground). The safe sections rotate clockwise. Watch the patterns and rotate with them.
2. Lightning Bolt (Targeted): The Archon targets your position with a lightning bolt after a 1-second delay. Keep moving. The bolt leaves a shocked patch on the ground for 3 seconds.
3. Storm Orbs (Arena Adds): The Archon spawns 6 storm orbs that drift slowly across the arena. Contact deals moderate damage and applies a 2-second slow. Prioritize killing these — slowed movement during a safe-zone rotation means death.
4. Tempest (Ultimate, Below 50% HP): The Archon channels for 4 seconds, then the entire arena becomes electrified except for a 2-meter safe circle directly beneath the Archon. You have 4 seconds (the channel time) to reach the center. Use movement abilities or sprint. If you're not in the center when Tempest activates, you die.
Safe Zone: Rotate between safe pie-slices every 8-10 seconds (slightly before the rotation to be safe). During Tempest, sprint to the center immediately when the channel starts.
Recommended Loadout: Fire weapons deal bonus damage. High movement speed from blessings or Cathedral upgrades is essential — this fight tests your mobility more than your damage. The Sacred Crux in Beam mode can hit the Archon from across the arena while you focus on positioning.
What Most Players Miss: The Archon takes double damage during the 4-second Tempest channel. If you reach the center early, you have a 3-4 second window of double-damage uptime. Activate Divine Form, unload everything.
#### The Forgotten Saint
Overview: A three-phase fight against a fallen holy warrior. Each phase changes the boss's damage type and attack patterns.
Phase 1 — Holy Warrior (100%-70% HP): Standard melee attacks with occasional Holy projectiles. Dodge sideways for melee, dodge perpendicular for projectiles. Phase 1 is straightforward — it exists to lull you into complacency before Phase 2.
Phase 2 — Corrupted (70%-30% HP): The Saint's armor cracks, revealing shadow beneath. Attack speed increases by 50%. Holy projectiles are replaced with shadow projectiles that leave damaging pools on impact. Melee attacks now have a 3-meter shockwave that extends beyond the visual swing. Maintain more distance than Phase 1.
Phase 3 — Desperation (30%-0% HP): The Saint floats, becoming immune to melee damage. Ranged attacks only. The arena floods with shadow pools that shrink the safe area by roughly 10% every 10 seconds. This is a hard DPS check — if you can't kill him within 90 seconds of Phase 3 starting, the arena has no safe space left.
Safe Zone: Phase 1: close-mid range. Phase 2: mid-long range (the shockwave extends further than you think). Phase 3: the center of the arena stays safe longest. Fight there and don't panic when the safe zone shrinks — you have more time than it feels like.
Recommended Loadout: Holy weapons for Phase 1, Shock for Phase 2, any high-DPS ranged weapon for Phase 3. You need ranged damage for Phase 3 — melee-only builds literally cannot finish this fight. This is the game telling you to diversify your loadout.
What Most Players Miss: In Phase 2, the Saint's shadow pools last 20 seconds but only the most recent 8 pools are active. Bait the pools to the edges of the arena. By the time Phase 3 starts, the edges are flooded but the center is mostly clear because you baited pools outward.
Act 4 Bosses
#### Warden Eternal
Overview: A teleporting melee boss who creates clones of himself. The clones share his HP pool (damaging any clone damages the boss) but also share his damage output (every clone can hit you).
Attack Patterns:
1. Teleport Strike: The Warden disappears and reappears next to you after 1 second, attacking immediately. The teleport is telegraphed by a brief shadow at your feet. Dodge preemptively when you see the shadow.
2. Clone Spawn (At 75%, 50%, 25% HP): Spawns 1 additional clone at each threshold (2 clones at 50%, 3 clones at 25%). Clones share HP but each attacks independently. Focus one clone at a time to reduce incoming damage, or use AoE to damage all simultaneously.
3. Synchronized Slash (2+ Clones): All clones slash simultaneously in a cross-pattern across the arena. Safe spots exist at the diagonal corners of the arena. Learn the pattern — it's consistent.
Safe Zone: Constant movement. Never stop. The Warden punishes stationary targets harder than any other boss. Stay at mid-range and circle. When clones spawn, prioritize dodging over damage until you understand the new attack rhythm.
Recommended Loadout: Fire weapons for raw DPS. AoE weapons (Seraph's Judgment, Ember Cannon) are excellent because they hit multiple clones simultaneously, effectively multiplying your DPS by the number of clones. The Sanctified Buzzsaw provides 360-degree protection against clone flanking.
What Most Players Miss: The clones share HP. Hitting two clones at once doubles your effective DPS. The Ember Cannon's AoE explosion can hit all clones simultaneously if positioned correctly. Three clones hit at once = triple DPS. This turns a difficult 4-minute fight into a 90-second execution.
#### Divine Engine Omega (Final Boss)
Overview: The final boss. Four phases. Every damage type. Every mechanic the game has taught you, combined into one fight.
Phase 1 — Assembly (100%-80% HP): The Engine assembles itself from floating parts. Easy phase. Dodge slow-moving projectiles. Build your blessing stacks. The game is giving you a warm-up — use it.
Phase 2 — Awakening (80%-50% HP): The Engine activates. Rotating laser beams, targeted missile volleys, and periodic arena-wide pulses that must be jumped over (the shockwave travels along the ground). The lasers rotate clockwise — walk counterclockwise to stay between them.
Phase 3 — Overload (50%-20% HP): The Engine goes berserk. All previous attacks continue with increased speed. Additionally, the arena floor becomes electrified in alternating rows (like a chessboard). Safe rows change every 8 seconds. You're now managing lasers, missiles, shockwaves, AND floor patterns simultaneously.
Phase 4 — Core Exposed (20%-0% HP): The Engine's outer shell breaks, exposing its core. Damage taken increased by 100%. Damage dealt increased by 100%. Every attack pattern from Phases 2 and 3 continues at maximum speed. This is a pure DPS race — kill it before it kills you.
Safe Zone: There isn't one. The Divine Engine is designed to be the ultimate test. You need to read patterns, position well, and maintain DPS simultaneously.
Recommended Loadout: Your strongest build. By this point, you should have a fully realized build with max-rank blessings, optimal merges, and full Cathedral upgrades. Bring your Firestorm, Holy Wall, or Lightning Storm build. This is what you've been training for.
What Most Players Miss: In Phase 3, the electrified floor rows don't actually cover 100% of each row — there's a 0.5-meter gap at the very edge of the arena that's always safe. It's tight, but it exists.
Hidden Bosses
#### Herald of the Abyss (Act 3 Hidden)
Spawn Condition: Collect 3 Cursed Relics during an Act 3 run. Cursed Relics are rare drops from elite enemies (roughly 5% drop rate). Taking a Cursed Relic applies a permanent debuff for the run (-10% HP, -10% damage, or -10% speed per relic).
After collecting 3, a purple portal appears after the Act 3 mid-boss. Enter it to fight the Herald.
Fight Summary: Bullet-hell boss. The screen fills with purple projectiles in dense patterns. Pure dodging test. Low HP (roughly 60% of a normal boss) but you're dealing with 3 stacked debuffs. Bring your best dodging skills.
Reward: Unique legendary weapon: Abyssal Shard. Fires piercing projectiles that leave damaging shadow trails. The trails persist for 2 seconds and deal 40% weapon damage per tick. Top 5 weapon in the game.
#### Echo of the First Flame (Act 4 Hidden)
Spawn Condition: Clear Act 4 without taking any damage from fire sources (lava pools, fire projectiles, fire DoT ticks). If successful, a golden portal appears after the Divine Engine is defeated.
Fight Summary: The Echo is a golden phoenix with the most complex attack patterns in the game. Mixes fire and holy attacks. The arena has no safe zones — every attack must be actively dodged. Approximately 3x the HP of the Divine Engine.
Achievement: Defeating the Echo without taking damage unlocks the "Untouched by Flame" achievement (0.1% of players have this on Steam).
Reward: Golden weapon skin for all weapons. Cosmetic only, but it's the ultimate flex.
